My first couple projects of 2026 were created in memory of two of our doggy friends. Every month my son and I would attend an event at our local library called Read to a Dog where kids get to practice their reading skills by reading to therapy dogs. Through this program, we became friends with some amazing Golden Retrievers and their lovely owners. My son was especially close to Whisper, Keeper, and Zoey. And unfortunately, both Zoey and Whisper passed away earlier this year from cancer. Zoey and Whisper were sisters, and it was devastating for their owner to lose them both only a couple months apart. This was also the first time my son (age 11) experienced the deaths of friends/loved ones. So there were lots of sad conversations and questions about death. He was very sad to lose his doggy friends, and he was also extra sad because he knew we were moving away. He didn't want to leave Zoey and Whisper's mom after such a loss. But, don't worry. Zoey and Whisper's mom is now training a puppy to be a service dog for the blind. I am sure the new pup is keeping her busy!

Hello! It's been a while, but I am still here! Today, I'm sharing my most recent creation. I was asked if I could make a cupcake scarf similar to the one Kimmy Gibbler wore on Full House. I hadn't made a cupcake scarf in years, so it was fun to make one again. I'm thinking about making more cupcake scarves in different colors soon. The other cupcake scarves I've made are my Crochet Carrot Cupcake Scarf and a Chocolate Cupcake Scarf. (I did not follow or write a pattern for this scarf.)

Since I've been making gnome scarves for holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day, I decided that I migh as well make an Easter themed gnome scarf. As with my other gnome scarves, I created this scarf by following the Fall Gnome Scarf pattern by Heidi Yates/Snappy Tots and made some modifications. This pattern is so fun and can be made with a variety of color combinations. 

This winter we got a little snow at the beginning of February, and the kids missed a whole week of school.  The snow inspired me to create another Long Tail Frosty Snowman Scarf. I made a Long Tail Frosty Scarf (pattern by Snappy Tots) a couple years ago using one of my favorite I Love This Yarn colorways called Cloudy Sea, which has been discontinued.  So this time, I made one with I Love This Yarn Day Dreamery. I found a couple skeins of Cloudy Sea in my stash, so I do plan on making another scarf in that colorway... eventually. 😁 It is now Spring... kinda... We're just rainy over here!

I've been wanting to create a St. Patrick's Day themed scarf for a while now, and I'm pleased to say that I finally got around to making one! I was inspired to go ahead and create this scarf when I saw that the theme for this month's Sustainable Craft Challenge is RAINBOW. I decided to crochet a scarf where one half is in rainbow colors and the other half is green. I knew I wanted a pot of gold and a lepruchan. To create this scarf, I followed the Fall Gnome Scarf pattern by Heidi Yates/Snappy Tots and made some modifications. This pattern is so fun and can be made with a variety of color combinations. 

I've admired the Crochet Patchwork Hearts created by Vendulka of Magic With Hook and Needles for a while, so when I saw that the theme for the February Sustainable Craft Challenge was Heart, I knew this would be the perfect project for the challenge. I decided to crochet the heart using yarn that's already in my stash, and instead of using fiber fill, I'd stuff the heart with yarn scraps.

I know it's after Christmas, but I recently had a request to make a set of crochet baubles. I have several crochet bauble color options in my Etsy shop, and this customer wanted a set of the baubles in the same color scheme, so of course  I made them for her. 😊 And baubles/ornaments are always fun to make no matter what time of year it is. In fact, I plan on making some crochet heart baubles soon.

As a crafter, I like to add handmade ornaments to my Christmas tree, and for several years now, I've had a Seahawks themed Christmas tree. Each year I buy and make a few new Seahawks themed ornaments to add to our tree. So I decided to make a snowman ornament with a green scarf and blue earmuffs, so he's wear Seahawks colors! 💙💚

I used a skein of Red Heart Sports Team yarn and Red Heart Metallic yarn to create these fun baubles.
