Saturday Blue Jeans Baby Blanket

A couple years ago, I made a baby blanket for my aunt to celebrate her first great grandbaby. She loved the blanket and recently asked me to make a couple more baby blankets. She asked for a blue blanket and a pink blanket (Times Square Baby Blanket) just like the one I gifted her before. So far, I've finished the blue blanket, but I'm still working on the pink one.
To create this fun baby blanket, I used one of my favorite patterns, which is the Frankenyarn Blanket pattern by Projectarian. I used a size G (4.0mm) crochet hook. I crocheted the squares with Caron Simply Soft Saturday Blue Jeans Ombre yarn.

For this blanket, I made 36 squares. I used three skeins of the Caron Simply Soft Saturday Blue Jeans Ombre yarn.

Then I crocheted a border around each square with Caron Simply Soft White yarn. I went down a hook size to a 3.5mm crochet hook.

Now, the squares are ready to join together. I used the stitch markers to mark the right side of the squares.

I used the join as you go method to join the squares together. There are lots of helpful videos on YouTube to learn this method of joining squares.

After all the squares were joined, I crocheted a pom pom border with the Caron Simply Soft Saturday Blue Jeans Ombre yarn.

I love the color changes with this yarn and the pom pom border.

Ta-Da! The blanket is all done, and it measures 30" x 32".

I added a suede Sew Crafty Crochet label.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my latest creation. If you'd like to check out the other blankets I've made with this pattern they are the Times Square Baby BlanketColorful Frankenyarn Throw Blanket, Wildflower Winds Baby Blanket, and Blue Camo Stripe Baby Blanket.
