I really enjoy creating patriotic crafts, and I've created several patriotic outfits for my daughter. Last summer was my daughters last summer wearing the Patriotic Patchwork Dress I made for her when she was two because she has finally outgrown it, so she needed something new in red, white, and blue!

I've been needing to make some coasters to use in my craft room and in my bedroom. I bought new nightstands a few months ago, and I haven't been using a coaster when I put my cold bottles of sparkling water on my nightstand at night. Shame on me! So I was finally motivated by the #crochet365 challenge on Instagram to create a set of crochet coasters. Since the challenge for today was to create something with stars, I decided to make patriotic coasters with stars in the middle.

Yesterday, my daughter and I did a little crafting together. We created something patriotic with wooden popsicle sticks and shapes. She arranged everything how she wanted it, and I glued it together for her. Later on, I decided to glue a magnet on the back of her creations and stick them on the fridge.

When my daughter was a baby, I made her a patriotic pant set. The fabrics I used are called Stars Tossed and Dynamic Duo (Red/White). When I first started this sewing project, it was going to be a patriotic dress, but she already had a patriotic dress. So then I decided to do a shirt and pants, but then I had a brain fart. So I changed my mind and was going to make a patriotic pinafore, but then I told myself NO MORE PINAFORES! I had already made three, and they fit a little big on my daughter, so I wanted to try something else. So then I decided AGAIN to sew a shirt and pants. So that's what I did. This is one of my first sewing projects when I was a newbie, and I made this oufit without a pattern.

I realized today that Independence Day is just around the corner, so I put together a patriotic wreath using some burlap I picked up at the store a while ago. This is my first time making a burlap wreath like this. I've made a burlap rag wreath which I love, so I was really looking forward to giving this type of burlap wreath a try.

Since my son's room has a nautical theme, I decided to create a nautical themed wreath for his bedroom door. I recently found some burlap with red and blue anchors, and I bought a bunch of it. I used some last week to create a Patriotic Burlap Wreath for our front door, and today I used the rest to create this nautical wreath for my baby boy.

I really like this wreath, but the feathers were/are a pain to deal with. When I first started working on this wreath, I made the mistake of working on it inside. There were feathers EVERYWHERE! Feathers danced across the floor... Feathers affixed themselves to my daughters clothes... Feathers sat next to me on the couch... They were everywhere! Eventually, I became fed up with the feathers here and there and everywhere, so I stored the wreath in a plastic container. So when I pulled it out and to finish it, I worked on it outside on my balcony. Now any stray feathers are blowing in the wind...

Since Independence Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd share my daughter's patriotic wrap dress. I made this dress for her a couple years ago, and it still fits! Instead of using a button or snaps to close the dress, I made a massive sash to tie around her waist. Although the dress still fits her, I realized that this will be her last summer wearing this dress, which is one of my favorite sewing creations.

I love mug rugs! I use them everyday, and I love making them, so I just had to create a set of patriotic mug rugs since Memorial Day and Independence Day are just around the corner. For this mug rug, I used fabric scraps left over from my daughter's Patriotic Patchwork Wrap Dress. Anyhoo, I've been seeing a lot of Dresden plates, so I finally decided to give it a try. I made a trip to Joann's to buy an acrylic Dresden tool, and I ended up buying a bunch of other things including fabric to add to my already pretty large stash.
