Fall Leaves Masks

September 06, 2022 16 Comments
Welcome to the September Sustainable Pinterest Challenge! This month's theme is Nature, so I searched Pinterest for nature inspired craft ideas. And eventually I found and pinned some really cute masks with fall leaves, flowers, and owls. I searched through my fabric stash, and I found some fall fabrics, owl fabric, and pretty floral fabrics. So I got to work stitching them up using the 3D No Fog Face Mask tutorial I found on YouTube.

Halloween Masks

October 30, 2021 0 Comments
Halloween is tomorrow, and all month long, my kids have been wearing Halloween masks to school. I searched through my stash of fabric to find every bit of Halloween fabric I had, and I also stopped by the fabric store to look for more fun Halloween fabrics. Lately, I've been making 3D No Fog Face Masks, which provide more room for talking and breathing! My glasses also don't fog up as much with this mask style.

Fun Masks for School

March 29, 2021 2 Comments

As of last month, both of my kiddos were back in school for a couple hours a day, and since Covid is still out there... the kiddos are wearing masks to school. So of course, I had to make sure my kiddos have fun and comfy masks to wear. With the masks I made before, I used regular ⅛ elastic, and sometimes that would hurt the little ears if we were out and about for a while. So I searched online and found some comfy (and colorful) adjustable elastic earloops. I wish I had found them sooner! They're so easy to sew on, and my kiddos love them. To create my masks, I use the Fitted Mask Pattern by Sew Poppy Red.

My Favorite Masks

I've made well over 100 masks for family and my Etsy shop, and I have some that are my favorites because I just looooove the fabrics! I really like these breakfast themed cereal fabrics. I found the Kellogg's fabric on Amazon, and it made me giggle, so I had to have it!

Mask Making Mania!

June 06, 2020 4 Comments
After making over 200 masks, I have put my sewing machine back on vacation! I've made many masks for my Etsy shop and a ton for my family. Before the Corona Virus, I hadn't been sewing, but I had a big stash of fabric from when I used to sew baby clothes and mug rugs.  I started making the pleated masks, but then I gave the fitted masks a try, and I actually enjoy making the fitted masks more! Anyhoo, here are some of the many masks I've made:

DIY Face Masks

April 10, 2020 3 Comments
I spent  few days this week sewing masks for family. I made masks for me, my two kiddos, my husband (who returned from deployment this week), my parents, and my in-laws. We've been staying home only going out maybe once a week to pick up things at the store. During out last outing, we had our masks. I have family members who have weekly doctors appointments, so I want to make sure they have some masks to wear while they're out. So I searched through my large fabric stash for some cool fabrics to make masks for my loved ones.
