Since I've been making gnome scarves for holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day, I decided that I migh as well make an Easter themed gnome scarf. As with my other gnome scarves, I created this scarf by following the Fall Gnome Scarf pattern by Heidi Yates/Snappy Tots and made some modifications. This pattern is so fun and can be made with a variety of color combinations.
SUPPLIES:
Caron Simply Soft Paints Tapestry (discontinued)
These are the colors I used for this scarf. I put them all in my new project bag.
Colors: Caron Simply Soft Paints Tapestry (discontinued), Caron Simply Soft White, Caron Simply Soft Sage, Caron Simply Soft Cobalt, Caron Simply Soft Lavender Blue, Caron Simply Soft Autumn Maize, Caron Simply Soft Plum Wine, Caron Simply Soft Light Country Peach.
I started by crocheting with the Caron Simply Soft Paints Tapestry (discontinued) yarn of about 30 inches.
Next, I crocheted with the white and all the other colors. I crocheted 6 rows of white and then 2 rows of a color. I repeated this until this half of the scarf reached 30 inches, for a total length of 60 inches.
I decided that I wanted the gnomes to have bunny ears, so I made a set of bunny ears for each gnome.
I followed the pattern's instructions for making the gnome's nose and hat brim. I added the bunny ears and clipped everything in place before stitching them onto the scarf.
Next, I attached white yarn to create the gnomes' beard and braids.
I also made rosettes to add to the gnomes' hat brims. I made one with the Tapestry yarn and one with Plum Wine yarn.
I sewed the rosettes onto the scarf and braided the gnome's two braids, and the scarf is complete.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my Easter Gnome Scarf. This scarf has been listed in my Etsy shop. Stop by again soon to see what I create next. You can also follow me on Instagram to see what I'm working on.
