Pencil Pillow Redo

October 04, 2022 14 Comments
Welcome to the October Sustainable Pinterest Challenge! This month's theme is Zero Waste, and I thought this would be a great time to remake a pencil pillow that I made back in 2017. Since the theme is Zero Waste, I unraveled the yarn I used to make the original pillow and reused it and the bolster pillow form that was inside the pillow to create a new pillow. I usually would just throw the yarn away and totally start over, but it is best to reuse things when you can. I originally crocheted the pillow, and over the years it had some wear and a coffee stain (I washed it to remove the stain).  I saw a pin for a super cute knit Pencil Pillow on Pinterest, but since my knitting skills are very very basic, I decided to use my circular knitting machine.

Crochet Lemon Slice Pillow

June 15, 2021 26 Comments
Welcome to the June Pinterest Challenge! The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen! For this month's challenge, we're sharing crafty creations related to Summer Fun. Here in WA, the weather is... weird. It was rainy and gloomy today, but I'm getting my porch ready for summer. I know summer is coming... eventually! Yesterday, I shared a Crochet Coastline Cushion that I made for my porch, and today I'm sharing a Lemon Slice Pillow that I also made for the porch. I was inspired by this Pin of A Crafty Concept's Crochet Lemon Pillow.

Crochet Coastline Cushion

I've been wanting to some pillows for my porch chairs to make it pretty and comfy for summer, and I'm so glad I finally got around to it! One of the pillows I really wanted to make was an anchor pillow. As a Navy wife, anchor crafts are a must! I was inspired to finally get around to this project by joining the Summer Crafts Challenge Blog HopEach month, a group of craft, home decor, and recipe bloggers co-host a themed blog hop. This month, we’re all sharing Summer Crafts and Projects.

Spiderman [Inspired] Tooth Fairy Pillow

September 05, 2020 2 Comments
My son lost his first tooth yesterday! It had been loose for a while, and it finally came out, which is great because the adult tooth was growing behind it. Other moms told me that once the baby tooth fell out, the adult tooth will shift forward. I hope so... 😬 Anyhoo, since I made my daughter a Wonder Woman Inspired Tooth Fairy Pillow, I thought it would be a great idea to make a Spiderman Inspired Tooth Fairy Pillow for my son, since he loves Spiderman.

BBQ Sauce & Grill Cuddlers

June 28, 2019 24 Comments
When I think of summer, I think of fun in the sun, ice cream, and BBQ! And Since I'm cohosting the Summer Fun Link Party with my blogging friends, I needed to create a summer themed project. Last summer, I shared a Crochet Ice Cream Scarf, so this year I wanted to share a different summer inspired project. So When I saw the 3amGraceDesigns Crochet Grill Cuddler, I knew I'd have to make it since my husband loves to barbeque. And then I also saw that there was a BBQ Sauce Cuddler, and I thought, "What a cool combo!" So since I'm cohosting the Summer Fun Link Party with my blog friends, I knew these crochet projects would be perfect for the Summer Fun Link Party

Welcome to the June Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! This month, I decided to create a cute crochet guitar cuddler for my husband as a Father's Day Gift since he enjoys playing his guitars. When I saw the Guitar Cuddler on the 3amgracedesigns Instagram, I had to visit the blog and Pin the adorable guitar, so I could make it later.

Crochet Unicorn Cake Cuddler

February 18, 2019 13 Comments
A couple days ago I was browsing through Instagram, and I saw a cute new creation by @3amgracedesigns. It was a Unicorn Cake Kawaii Cuddler, and I knew I wanted to make one for my daughter. I decided that this would be the perfect Crafty Destash Challenge project, so I searched through all my yarn for the perfect colors for this project. My daughter has a Wonder Woman themed room, so I decided to go with those colors (red, blue, yellow/gold, and white).

Cactus Pillow

March 20, 2018 32 Comments
Welcome to the March Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! So this month, I chose to create/make Crochet Cactus Pillow. I liked that Maz Kwok used eyelash yarn to represent the cactus spines on her Icy Cactus. I thought that was such a cool and fun idea. So when I created my cactus pillow, I decided to add some fun fur for the cactus spines.

Heart Eyes Emoji Pillow

February 10, 2017 9 Comments
Have you tried c2c (corner to corner) crochet yet? I recently tried a c2c pattern I found at Repeat Crafter Me, and I am now in love with c2c crochet. It's so much fun! I made a heart eyes emoji pillow. I was going to make all the emojis into pillows, but I think I want to make a throw instead. So I'll be making more c2c emojis soon!

Round Crochet Pillow & Bolster Pillow

March 23, 2016 0 Comments
I've made a few changes in our home. I've continued working on crocheting pillows for the kids' playroom and our very brown couch. I've been using yarns that match the colors of my Mudhut Makayla curtains. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in Chocolate, Persimmon, Pistachio, White, Dark Country Blue, Country Blue, and Autumn Red.

Chocolate Granny Square Pillow

March 04, 2016 0 Comments

I finally finished my second granny square pillow, and my daughter is very happy with it. When I finished it she said, "It's pretty Mommy! I love all the colors. So cute!" And then she took it and put it on the futon in the playroom.

Crochet Granny Square Pillow

March 01, 2016 0 Comments
I'm in the process of crocheting throw pillows to jazz up the futon in the kids' playroom and for my bedroom. This is the first pillow I've finished, and I'm very pleased with it. I used the join as you go method to join all the granny squares, and this was my first time using that method, and I am very pleased! I will be joining my squares like this from now on! It's so much better than stitching them all together with yarn and a yarn needle like I've been doing all these years.
