Frozen [Inspired] Christmas Tree & Wrapping Up the Holidays Link Party

November 15, 2016 0 Comments
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is just around the corner, and many of us enjoy spending these special days with our dearest friends and family. I enjoy cuddling up on the couch with my kiddos and my husband and watching Christmas movies and snacking on yummy treats like popcorn, cookies, and candied apples with hot cocoa (or coffee). I really enjoy decorating our home for Christmas. I usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to do so. Last year, we had a Frozen themed Christmas since my daughter adores Elsa, Anna, and Olaf.

Crochet Princess Anna Hat & Cape

October 01, 2016 10 Comments
Last year for Halloween, my daughter informed me that she wanted to be Princess Anna of Arendale. She was Queen Elsa the year before. I am a major procrastinator, so I started working on my daughter's Halloween costume pretty late. Originally, I wanted to make the entire Princess Anna costume. I planned to crochet the whole thing. Then, I thought about crocheting the top of the dress and using tulle for the skirt of the dress. But time passed and passed, and I had yet to start on the costume. So I ended up buying a Princess Anna dress from TJ Maxx for only $12.99! The same dress was $29.99 at Joann's. To complete the costume, I crocheted a hat and cape to keep my little Anna warm. My mother and a mom from my daughter's preschool said that adding the crochet hat and cape made the costume perfect. They told me that the entire costume didn't have to be handmade. I think as a crafter, I put pressure on myself to make everything and to make it perfect. But now I see that they were right. My daughter was adorable in her costume, and I was very pleased with how the cape turned out. We received many compliments on the cape, and that made me feel great!

Olaf Trick-Or-Treat Bucket

September 30, 2016 2 Comments
This year my daughter decided she wants to be Princess Anna for Halloween. So I found her a Princess Anna costume, crocheted a hat and cape, and dug out her Olaf Trick-or-Treat Bucket from last Halloween. Last year, she used this bucket when she dressed up as Queen Elsa of Arendale.

The Snow Queen Scoodie

July 26, 2016 12 Comments
Since it's Christmas In July, I thought I'd share a handmade gift I made for my daughter last Christmas. My daughter is a Frozen fanatic. I believe it was her first favorite movie, and I decided to make her a Frozen inspired hat and scarf set to keep her warm out here in the Pacific Northwest. Since Elsa was her favorite at the time (she alternates between Anna, Elsa, and Olaf being her favorite character), I decided to make the theme of the hat and scarf set kind of like Elsa with different shades of blue.

The Thats-Not-Olaf Snowman Wreath

July 20, 2016 16 Comments
I've seen so many cute snowman wreaths on Pinterest, so I finally decided to make one of my own. While making it, I thought of Princess Anna asking her big sister Elsa, "Do you wanna build a snowman?" My daughter loves Olaf, but I decided to make a regular snowman wreath instead of an Olaf wreath. BUT Olaf is on the snowman's scarf. Last Christmas, we had a Frozen themed Christmas tree that's white with blue lights and blue, pink, and purple ornaments, so I stuck to the same theme and color scheme with all the Christmas decor.

Christmas In July: Crochet Tree Skirt

July 06, 2016 12 Comments
I know we just celebrated Independence Day here in America, but now it's Christmas in July.  So today, I am sharing the Frozen Inspired Crochet Christmas Tree Skirt I made last year. Last Christmas, I bought a new tree that's white with blue lights. I decided to give our Christmas decor a Frozen theme since my daughter LOVES Frozen. Our tree was decked out in blue, pink, and purple ornaments, so I chose the same colors for the tree skirt.

Crochet Frozen Easter Basket

March 26, 2016 3 Comments
So Easter is TOMORROW, and last night I finally finished my daughter's Easter basket for all her new Frozen goodies. Last week, I sewed a fabric Frozen Easter Egg Basket for her using purple Frozen fabric, and she used that basket for the Easter egg hunt we attended, which was so much fun, and she made a new friend.  We had a playdate at her new friend's house, and her mom put together another egg hunt, which was super fun! She had a bubble machine, so the bubbles floated through the air while the kids ran around the yard scooping up the eggs. Anyhoo... Here's the crochet Frozen inspired basket...

Frozen Easter Egg Basket

Yesterday, we participated in an Easter egg hunt, and this was my daughter's first time hunting for eggs on her own. She had a blast. For the event, I sewed a small fabric Easter basket for her to collect her eggs. I made a large Crochet Frozen Easter Basket to hold all her Frozen gifts and goodies. I made the fabric "basket" using the Friendship Bag Tutorial at PS I Quilt. I also used this tutorial to make a Halloween Trick or Treat Tote for my daughter a few years ago, so tutorial can be used to make all kinds of cute bags!

Frozen Themed Bedroom

January 30, 2016 0 Comments
Like most little girls her age, my daughter LOVES Frozen. She loves Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. So when we moved here to our new home about a year ago, I decided that I'd give her new bedroom a Frozen theme, and I've been working on it ever since! Now, I think I'm DONE! I have been rearranging her furniture all week. I think I've done all I can do with this room. I've created a bed canopy, reading nook, painted a dresser, and made a Frozen puzzle gallery wall. In the process, I've put so many holes in the walls! But I have nail hole filler, so it should be okay.

Frozen (Inspired) Vanity Reading Nook

January 28, 2016 2 Comments
I've been working on my daughter's Frozen themed room for a while now, and I've noticed that she likes to sit on her vanity like it's an actual seat. So I decided to make a cushion for it and create a reading nook in her room. But before I sewed the cushion, I had to do a little painting.

Frozen Puzzle Gallery Wall

January 16, 2016 1 Comments
We've been in our home since November, but I am still tweaking the decor. This week I created a Frozen gallery wall in my daughter's room using Frozen puzzles I purchased from the Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, and Ross (my favorite stores). I considered framing the puzzles, but they'll all very odd sizes, so I wouldn't be able to buy frames. Instead, I decided to frame them using sticks. So while at a couple playgrounds, I picked up a bunch of sticks... and a tree branch!

DIY Frozen Inspired Bed Canopy

January 13, 2016 0 Comments
I've been working on turning my daughter's room into an awesome Frozen themed room. First, I repainted her dresser to match the colors of the Frozen posters and puzzles on the walls. Next, I decided the room needed a Frozen inspired bed canopy.

Frozen Satin Pillowcase

January 10, 2016 0 Comments
My daughter loves Frozen, and her room is totally my DIY Frozen Inspired creation. So of course, she has Frozen bedding.  But I decided that she needs a satin pillowcase instead of the cotton one that came with the bedding because sleeping on satin is better for your hair.

But before I went to the store to buy satin fabric, I made a satin pillowcase using my daughter's old sating crib sheet. I mean... that pink satin crib sheet is obsolete now that she's a big girl in a twin sized bed.  Hence, I got the idea to upcycle the satin crib sheet into a satin pillowcase.

Frozen Inspired Chalkboard Dresser

January 08, 2016 0 Comments
Like many kiddos her age, my daughter is obsessed with Frozen. She has Frozen pajamas, a Frozen bowling set, the Frozen soundtrack on her LeapPad Ultra, Frozen sheets, Frozen posters, An Olaf backpack, Frozen books, Frozen cups and plates, etc... So I decided change the theme and colors of her room from ladybugs (pink, green, tan, & brown) to Frozen.
