It's Memorial Day Weekend, so I decided to repost these patriotic coasters I made a couple years ago. They were fun and quick to make, and they're perfect for patriotic holidays and all summer long!

Welcome to the March Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! So this month, I chose to create/make Crochet Cactus Pillow. I liked that Maz Kwok used eyelash yarn to represent the cactus spines on her Icy Cactus. I thought that was such a cool and fun idea. So when I created my cactus pillow, I decided to add some fun fur for the cactus spines.

Tomorrow is the first day if spring, and I thought I'd do some spring planting... However, I do not have a green thumb, so instead, I decided to crochet some cacti. The cactus is everywhere, and I'm loving it. After seeing several crochet cactus creations, I decided to make some of my own. I am a collector of Rae Dunn pottery, and I decided that my Rae Dunn planters definitely needed some crochet cacti.

October is here!!! That means Halloween is just around the corner! So today, I'm sharing a Crochet Bride of Frankenstein Hat that I made for my daughter. I love earflap hats, so of course, this hat is an earflap hat with long ties. For this hat, I used Caron Simply Soft Pistachio, White, Black, Gray Heather, and Lavender Blue.

I only made two resolutions for 2017, and they go hand in hand. First, I want to spend less and save more. Secondly, I'm not allowed to yarn until maybe my birthday, which is at the end of May. So with those resolutions in mind, the Dollar Tree is a great place to purchase craft supplies. All the supplies I used to make this snowman wreath were purchased from the Dollar Tree. Yes, even the yarn was purchased at the Dollar Tree. Yes, they have yarn! The yarn I used to crochet the snowman's hat and scarf are Red Heart Boutique Sashay Sparkle in Red Hot and Midas. I believe I found them there around Christmas time. But, I've also seen the Fun Fur yarns, Bernat holiday yarn, and Caron Simply Soft at the Dollar Tree for ONE DOLLAR!

I've been needing to make some coasters to use in my craft room and in my bedroom. I bought new nightstands a few months ago, and I haven't been using a coaster when I put my cold bottles of sparkling water on my nightstand at night. Shame on me! So I was finally motivated by the #crochet365 challenge on Instagram to create a set of crochet coasters. Since the challenge for today was to create something with stars, I decided to make patriotic coasters with stars in the middle.

When I found out that one of my good friends was pregnant with a baby girl, I immediately got to work on a couple handmade gifts. Of course, she is aware that I crochet, so she told me that she'd like for me to make her a blanket, but I wanted it to be a surprise, so I acted like I wasn't going to make her one. Haha! But I really was making one, of course. Originally, I wanted to make a pink, gray, black, and white chevron blanket, but I didn't like the pattern I was using, so I went back to what I know, granny square.  So I made a 30 x 30 gray, pink, and white granny square blanket with a crochet ladybug applique. I also sewed an owl with fabric that has similar colors.
