Crochet Ice Cream Scarf

When I think of summer, I think of warm weather, fun in the sun, BBQs, days at the pool/beach, and ICE CREAM! So I decided to crochet a fun ice cream scarf. Since my family and I are back in the South, it is super hot down here! And ice cream is the perfect way to keep cool. My favorite ice cream flavor is Bubblegum (especially the Baskin Robbins Pink Bubblegum). My love for bubblegum ice cream began when I was a little girl, and my parents and I would visit family in North Carolina. We'd stop at a place called South of the Border to get ice cream, and my father would get bubblegum, and so did I! The bubblegum ice cream at South of the Border was blue and so delicious. So what's YOUR favorite ice cream flavor? (Tell me in the comments!)

Like many of my fun food scarves, this is a pattern by Twinkie Chan, and the pattern can be found in her book Twinkie Chan's Goodies for Fashion Foodies.

I started by crocheting the cones with Caron Simply Soft Autumn Maize. I used just about the entire skein of yarn for this project. The cones are crocheted with a size F/3.75mm hook. My favorite hooks are the Clover crochet hooks.

After crocheting all the cones, I crocheted the ice cream. The pattern says to use a size I/5.5mm crochet hook, but I used a H/5mm hook.

I used a tapestry needle to whip stitch the ice cream and cones together.

I added colorful mini pom poms to the ice cream.

Once each cone had its ice cream, I stitched all the ice cream cones together to form the scarf. I used my ice cream stitch marker to hold them in place.

For the chocolate ice cream, I added white "sprinkles." And the ice cream crocheted with the Pistachio yarn could either be pistachio ice cream or mint chocolate chip, so the brown pom poms could either represent nuts or chocolate chips.

For the vanilla ice cream, I added pink, blue, and brown "sprinkles." The pink ice cream could either be strawberry ice cream with the pink pom poms representing strawberries, or it could be my favorite Pink Bubblegum ice cream with chunks of bubblegum. YUM! 😋

This scarf is about 85 inches long.

My ice cream scarf has 3 vanilla cones, 2 chocolate cones, 2 bubblegum/strawberry cones, and 1 mint chocolate chip cone.

Thanks for checking out my Crochet Ice Cream Scarf! My daughter was really excited about this scarf while I worked on it. She also likes Bubblegum ice cream, but I think both my kiddos' favorite ice cream flavor is Cotton Candy. So what's you favorite flavor? Tell me in the comments below.😊

  10. What a fun pattern! It would be so great for my little girl. My favorite flavor is mint chip, or mint oreo. As long as there is some sort of mint and chocolate combo!
