Crochet Pencil Scarf

What a crazy school year that was! The school year officially ended for my kiddos a couple weeks ago, and I'm wondering how the next school year will start. Anyhoo, I'm still crocheting pencil scarves. I've shared pencil scarves on the blog before, but I've changed the ferrule of the pencil scarf a little, so I thought I'd shared an updated version of this fun scarf. (This is for crochet inspiration. I do NOT have a free or paid pattern available for this scarf.)

The yarns I used for this scarf are Red Heart Super Saver Charcoal,  Vanna's Choice Beige, Big Twist Premium Tumeric, Red Heart Soft Light Gray Heather, and Big Twist Premium Salmon. Of course, I had to crochet my pencil scarves with my Pencil Crochet Hooks! This project also requires some coffee! And I like to use my Rae Dunn Teacher Mug.

For this scarf, I start with the pencil point and end with the eraser. I make these scarves about 70 inches long. Sometimes I used a pencil crochet hook and my composition notebook yarn bowl really comes in handy!

After I complete crocheting the yellow portion of the scarf, I crochet the silver ferrule and the pink eraser.

After I've completed the pencil eraser, I crochet a black oval and stitch the number 2 on it. Then I sew it onto the scarf with a yarn needle.

Sometimes it's okay to be #2. 😉

I love this mug! It goes perfectly with this scarf.

I've also created a Ticonderoga Inspired Pencil Scarf.

As a former teacher, I know a Crochet Pencil Scarf is an awesome gift for teachers. It's also great for students heading back to school. I usually keep a couple Crochet Pencil Scarves in my Etsy shop. I'm definitely going to make one for my daughter to wear for the upcoming school year.
