Blue Hats for Hat Not Hate (2022)

July 31, 2022 0 Comments
Last year, I discovered Hat Not Hate on Instagram, and I think this anti-bullying campaign is such a great idea. Hat Not Hate asks crocheters and knitters to donate handmade blue hats to be distributed to schools. The blue hats are Hat Not Hate's symbol for eradicating bullying. As a mom of two and a former educator, I am all for eradicating bullying. Last year, I donated 11 hates, and this year I donated 16 hats. I was able to make a few more because I used a circular knitting machine, which I enjoy using when I need to give my hands a break from crocheting but still want to make things.

Christmas Scarf Hat

July 11, 2022 12 Comments
Welcome to The Christmas in July Blog Hop! This month my blog friends and I are sharing our Christmas themed creations. Christmas is my favorite holidays, and I love crocheting Christmas themed creations. For this blog hop, I'm sharing a Christmas creation that is both a hat and a scarf. I decided to use my Addi Express King Size circular knitting machine to make this hat scarf. I found a video tutorial on YouTube for The Super Santa Scarf Hat, and I followed the instructions in the video to create my own Christmas scarf hat.

Knitting Machine Beanies

February 14, 2022 16 Comments
As usual, my goal for this year is to use up as much of my yarn as possible. I can slowly see some yarn disappearing from my stash, but I still keep accidentally buying new yarn! But at least when I buy yarn now, I buy it for a specific project. I no longer allow myself to buy yarn just because it's pretty or on sale. Since I'm trying to use up my yarn stash, I really enjoy participating in the Craft Room De-Stash Challenge. For the de-stash challenge, my blog friends and I created new projects from supplies already in our craft supply stash. This time I've decided to make beanies using my new Sentro knitting machine. I've been crocheting for almost 20 years, and I know how to knit...a little. So when I learned about the knitting machine, I thought it would be a cool way to hurry up the process of using up my yarn, and using the machine would be easier on my hands. Anyhoo, I made 15 hats! Scroll down to check them out!

Blue Hats for Hat Not Hate

September 04, 2021 12 Comments
Yesterday, I shipped off some handmade hats for the anti-bullying campaign, Hat Not Hate. Hat Not Hate asks crocheters and knitters to donate handmade blue hats to be distributed to schools. The blue hats are Hat Not Hate's symbol for eradicating bullying. As a mom of two and a former educator, I am all for eradicating bullying, so I searched my yarn stash for blue yarn and got to work.
