For my daughter's first Halloween, she was only 2 months old, and we got her a ladybug costume from some store. For my daughter's second Halloween, I decided to get crafty. So I made her a Candy Corn Fairy costume.  I wanted her to be more than just a piece of candy corn. So I went to the local fabric store and bought orange, yellow, and white fabric.  I dug through my fabric tub and found my Retro Mae sewing pattern, and I got to work. The Retro Mae pattern (by Jane McKinlay Cluff) only has ruffles on the back of the romper, but I decided to added ruffles to the front as well. After I completed the romper part of the costume, I visited the fabric store again to purchase a couple orange feather boas, and I went to the Dollar Tree to buy the orange fairy wings. I used my hot glue gun to glue the feather boas onto the wings. I am very pleased with this costume. Too bad children outgrow things so fast...
