Crochet Purple Crayon Scarves

Welcome to the March Craft Room De-Stash Challenge! This month I'm sharing a couple Purple Crayon Scarves I made recently. In the past, I've made a Pink Crayon Scarf and a Red Crayon Scarf. I do not have a pattern for the crayon scarf.

When I decided to make the Purple Scarves, I searched through my stash to find the perfect shades of purple. I used I Love This Yarn in Grape for the main body of the scarf, but for the ends, I had to hunt down the perfect shade of dark purple. I already had the the grape yarn and the black yarn in my stash.

I started with crocheting the "paper" part of the crayon while I searched for a yarn to use to make the pointed and flat ends of the crayon. Of course, I had to crochet the scarf with my favorite purple Clover 4mm hook.

For one scarf, I crocheted the letters and sewed them onto the scarf. I used the Alphabet patterns by Moogly to crochet these letters.

For the other scarf, I crocheted the letters into the scarf tapestry style (bottom). I think I like sewing on the applique letters (top) better.

For the ends of the scarf, I used Scarfie Purple and Black yarn. I used the purple sections, of course.

These scarves are approximately 68 inches long and 4.5 inches wide.

These scarves are available in my Etsy shop.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.
