IT'S DAY 3 AND WE'RE SHARING DIY CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN IDEAS!

To create this advent calendar, I used the free Caron Countdown to Christmas Crochet Advent Calendar pattern from the Yarnspirations website. I also used Caron Simply Soft yarns.

I crocheted this project with Caron Simply Soft in Dark Country Blue, Limelight, Heather Grey, Dark Sage, and White.

I started by crocheting the tree with the Dark Sage yarn. I used a size G/4mm crochet hook.

Once the tree was complete, I started crocheting the background of the advent calendar.

I crocheted the background of the advent calendar with the Heather Grey yarn.

I wanted a sparkly star, so I crochet the star with Red Heart With Love Metallic Light Gray.

When I finished crocheting the background, I pinned the star and tree in place and sewed them on.

Now, it's time to crochet the pockets...

I crocheted the pockets and stitched the numbers 1 - 24.

Next, I sewed all the pockets onto the bottom half of the advent calendar. I also sewed a border around the calendar. Half of the border is in  Dark Country Blue and the other half is in Limelight.

The advent calendar has two tabs at the top, and I crocheted one in  Dark Country Blue and the other in Limelight.

And finally, I added the buttons to the tree. I used light green buttons.

The advent calendar is complete and ready to be hung on the wall. It also needs ornaments...

On the wall...

The Caron Countdown to Christmas Crochet Advent Calendar pattern includes patterns for mini ornaments to go on the tree each days, but I decided to buy some small ornaments instead.

I tucked the ornaments into the pockets for now, but as soon as December 1st arrives, we will begin the Christmas countdown with our new advent calendar.

Thanks so much for checking out my Seahawks Inspired Crochet Advent Calendar!

  3. WOW! I love this!! My favorite advent project. And I like how you used some little store bought ornaments, instead of the crocheted ones - it really adds to it. Got me wondering if I have time to work this up... Hmm... Pinned!
