Potted Cactus Scarf

February 13, 2023 10 Comments
I've been waiting for a couple years for Twinkie Chan to release her Potted Cactus Scarf pattern, and she finally did. I immediately purchased the pattern from her Etsy shop and searched my yarn stash to figure out which yarns to use for this project. My goal every year is to use up as much yarn in my stash as possible. I have a good amount of green yarn, so I gathered all the yarns and got started.

Crochet Cactus Gnome for Spring Tiered Tray

Welcome to the February Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My PinterventuresIn case you're new to the blog, the purpose of the Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! This month's challenge is about Spring Crafts/DIY Projects, so I chose to create a Crochet Cactus Gnome to add to my Spring themed tiered tray. To create my little gnome friend, I searched Pinterest and found a pin for the Crochet Nordic Gnome. This gnome pattern was quick and easy to make. There's even a video!

Another Crochet Cactus Scarf...

June 10, 2019 16 Comments
Welcome to the Craft Destash Challenge Blog Hop! As a crocheter with over 800 skeins of yarn, I love participating in crafty destash challenges. My blogging friends and I are using supplies from our stashes to make crafty creations for this blog hop. I'm sharing another cactus scarf because I've been working on using up my green yarn by making  several Flowering Cactus Scarves (pattern by HelloHappyCrafts). For this one, I used a variegated green yarn for the cactus and decorated it with pink flowers.

Crochet Flowering Cactus Scarves

March 18, 2019 13 Comments
My hands have been busy busy busy crocheting scarves as I work toward my goal of using up my 800+ skeins of yarn. I've been working on using up my green yarn by making fun Flowering Cactus Scarves (pattern by HelloHappyCrafts). It's a fun and easy to follow pattern. And you can customize this scarf however you'd like. I like to stick to the terracotta colored flower pot , but I like using different shades of green for the cactus and different flower colors. I recently made three cactus scarves, and they're all a little different.

The pattern is by HelloHappyCrafts. It's a fun and easy to follow pattern. And you can customize this scarf however you'd like. I like to stick to the terracotta colored flower pot for my cactus The first time I made this scarf, and I added pink flowers with yellow stamen. This time I added white flowers, and I used a fun variegated green yarn for the body of the cactus.

Cactus Pillow

March 20, 2018 32 Comments
Welcome to the March Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! So this month, I chose to create/make Crochet Cactus Pillow. I liked that Maz Kwok used eyelash yarn to represent the cactus spines on her Icy Cactus. I thought that was such a cool and fun idea. So when I created my cactus pillow, I decided to add some fun fur for the cactus spines.

Crochet Flowering Cactus

Tomorrow is the first day if spring, and I thought I'd do some spring planting... However, I do not have a green thumb, so instead, I decided to crochet some cacti. The cactus is everywhere, and I'm loving it. After seeing several crochet cactus creations, I decided to make some of my own. I am a collector of Rae Dunn pottery, and I decided that my Rae Dunn planters definitely needed some crochet cacti.
