Crochet Spiral Christmas Bows

Welcome to the November Pinterest Challenge! The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen! Since Christmas is just around the corner, this month's theme is creative wrapping. I like the idea of having crochet Christmas bows on presents, and I like crochet spirals. I found a pin of a video of crochet curlicues in Christmas colors. So far I've only made a few bows, but I definitely plan to make more once I start Christmas shopping and get the tree up.
The yarns I used to create the bows are Red Heart With Love Metallic Light Grey, Caron Simply Soft Party Spring Sparkle, Caron Simply Soft Party Royal Sparkle, and Caron Simply Soft Party Snow Sparkle.

To crochet the spirals, I started with a chain of 16, and I crocheted 2 or 3 single crochets into each chain. When I reached the end of the chain, I made another chain of 16 and crocheted 2 or 3 single crochets into each stitch until I reached the end. I joined with a slip stitch to the original first stitch. I repeated these steps until I had about 10 to 12 spirals. (The video that I shared above shows how to make the spirals, but she started with a longer chain.)

I made this spiral bow a while ago and put it on a present wrapped in Seahawks wrapping paper. I've been having a hard time finding more of this paper lately.

I made the silver bow a while ago, but I made the blue, green, and white bows last week.

I haven't gone Christmas shopping, but my husband's birthday is today! So I wrapped a gift for him and topped it with one of the bows I crocheted. I bought him some cologne and wrapped it with Snoopy/Charlie Brown wrapping paper I found at the Dollar Tree

So after wrapping the box, I topped it with the blue bow and a green bell. I also crocheted a gift tag with his name. A tutorial for crocheting a gift tag can be found at the Repeat Crafter Me blog.

I also like to add small ornaments and glittery pinecones to my Christmas gifts. I like to use pieces from floral picks that I pick up from the Dollar Tree.

Thanks so much for checking out my Spiral Christmas Bows!
