Upcycled Let It Bloom Stamped Books Set

This month I've joined my blogging friends for the February Upcycle Challenge. For this month's challenge, I'm sharing a stamped book stack I made using a set of children's books my kiddos no longer read. After seeing these book stacks on tiered tray all over Instagram, I'm finally glad to make my own, so I can add them to my tiered tray decor.

To create this book stack, I used three Leap Frog Tag Junior books that my kids have outgrown.

I painted them with white chalk paint.  I let the paint dry overnight.

I also found some wooden beads from my bead stash from back when I used to make beaded jewelry many years ago, and I painted some of them white and green. I set them aside to dry as well.

I used Vanna's Choice Fern green yarn to crochet a chain of about 125 stitches with a 4mm Clover crochet hook.

I glued the books together with hot glue. I used a yarn need to weave the green yarn chain through a strip of burlap.

I wrapped the burlap strip around the books and hot glued it in place.

I tried the yarn into a bow.

I added the beads.

I used a tassel maker to add green tassels.

Lastly, I used letter stamps to stamp LET IT BLOOM onto the spines of the books.

I plan on adding these books to my Spring tiered tray decor, but it's still decorated for Valentine's Day for now.

Thank so much for checking out my upcycle project! Please scroll below to check out the projects created by the other blog hop hosts!

  5. That's so sweet. I have seen these done with fake books - blocks of wood etc but it's a great idea just to upcycle the kids old books.
