Wavy Texture Baby Blanket

Welcome to the January Craft Room De-Stash Challenge! This month I'm sharing a baby blanket I made for my niece who is due to arrive next month!  I've crocheted a Wavy Textures Baby Blanket before, but with a different colorway Bernat Mix Baby Coral). For this blanket, I used Bernat Mix Baby Putty, which has been in my yarn stash for over a year. I made the coral version of this blanket for my baby cousin last year, and my aunt and cousins loved it.  So I hope my niece will enjoy this warm and squishy blanket that was handmade with lots of love!

To create this blanket, I followed the Crochet Wavy Textures Baby Blanket by the Crochet Crowd. I love this pattern! It's one of my favorites, and it works up so quickly.

I used a size J/6mm crochet hookI chose the Bernat Mix Baby yarn in the color Putty, which is a nice neutral color. This soft and squishy yarn has 4 different textures.

Once I finished the blanket, I used the Bernat Pipsqueak yarn to create a fluffy border.

The blanket needed a little blocking to make the sides more even. When I block my projects, I use knit blocking mats and Knitter's Pride Knit Blockers.

It's ready to ship off to TN where my family lives, but I'm finishing up another blanket for my niece. I was working on a C2C crochet blanket with pink camo yarn, but I underestimated how much yarn I would need, so I had to wait on more yarn to arrive. But this blanket is complete!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.

  3. I can practically feel the softness of this sweet blankie! I used to know how to crochet (the pure basics) and I'd love to take it up again, especially if I can learn to make something as pretty as this!
