Crochet Pepperoni Pizza Scarf

I really enjoy making fun and unique crochet scarves. So naturally, I'm a huge fan of the crochet designer Twinkie Chan. I couldn't resist making Twinkie's Pepperoni Pizza Scarf. I followed the pattern in her book Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats to Wear. This scarf is so fun to make that I've crocheted at least 4 of them so far. And I plan on crocheting at least a couple more.

I tracked down the Malabrigo Merino yarn Twinkie recommends for the pizza cheese, and as you can see, the yarn comes in hanks... not the usual skeins I'm used to. So I had a tangled mess on my hands! But my yarn winder helped me get it under control and neatly wound into balls.

Once I got the Malabrigo Merino yarn wound into a ball, I placed it in my yarn bowl and started crocheting!

I believe I used about a hank and a half to crochet the cheese portion of the scarf. There are so many rows in this scarf, so I used a stitch counter.

The cheese is done...

Next I added a row of red pizza sauce using Deborah Norville Premier Really Red yarn. Then I started crocheting the crust with Vanna's Choice Honey yarn.

Sometimes you need a snack while crocheting a food themed scarf! For the crust a few different stitches are used, so you have to pay attention to what you're doing and count, count, count!

The crust... Some people don't eat the crust, but I think it's yummy!

Once the body of the scarf was complete, it was time to crochet many pepperonis.

I used my Pepperoni Pizza Crochet Hook to crochet the pepperonis.

I made several pepperoni circles and half circles with Caron Simply Soft Autumn Red yarn.

After I finished crocheting the pepperoni, I used a yarn needle to sew them onto the scarf.

I sewed the half pepperoni along the edge of the scarf and added the full circle pepperoni randomly all over the scarf.

And here's the finished Pepperoni Pizza Scarf, which is available in my Etsy Shop.

I really enjoy making fun food crochet accessories, so I can't wait to wear a Pepperoni Pizza Scarf with my Pizza Wristlet.😁

  2. What a super scarf. It also reminds me a bit of Noddy's scarf. Do you have Noddy in your bit of the world. He always wears a yellow scarf with red dots. Thanks for joining in my party for October.
