Patriotic Patchwork Dress

Since Independence Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd share my daughter's patriotic wrap dress. I made this dress for her a couple years ago, and it still fits! Instead of using a button or snaps to close the dress, I made a massive sash to tie around her waist. Although the dress still fits her, I realized that this will be her last summer wearing this dress, which is one of my favorite sewing creations.

To create this dress, I used the Snap Wrap Dress pattern & tutorial.  I followed the tutorial, but instead of using just one piece of fabric for the skirt portion of the dress, I used four patriotic fabrics to create a patchwork look. Then I made the sash to hold it all together!

My daughter had a fun day in her dress when she wore it during a fun trip to the zoo.
