Christmas Gnome Scarf

Yes, I'm back with ANOTHER gnome scarf! 😆 I absolutely LOVE the Fall Gnome Scarf pattern by Heidi Yates/Snappy Tots, so after making a Fall Gnome Scarf just like the original pattern, I decided to change it up to create a Halloween Gnome Scarf. And Since Christmas is next month, I couldn't resist creating a couple Christmas Gnome Scarves! No, I couldn't make just one... I had to make two!

SUPPLIES:
Fall Gnome Scarf pattern by Heidi Yates/Snappy Tots

For the first scarf, I decided to make one half Grinch green and the other half with red and white stripes. I started crocheting with the Red Heart Super Saver Spring Green yarn until the scarf reached 30 inches.

For the other half of the scarf, I alternated crocheting with the Vanna's Choice White yarn and the Vanna's Choice Scarlet yarn. I crocheted 6 rows with each color. The last section is about 20 rows of red.

I decided to start on the next scarf, and this one has a white half and a red and white striped half like a candy cane. Again, I used the Vanna's Choice White yarn and the Vanna's Choice Scarlet yarn.

I crocheted the nose, brim, and patch pieces that are in the pattern. I also decided to that I wanted the gnomes to have holly and stars and peppermints, so I crocheted those pieces also. I crocheted the noses with the Caron Simply Soft Light Country Peach yarn.

First, I sewed on the noses and brim pieces. Then I added the beard and braids.

Next, I added a few embellishments. Each gnome has holly on their hat brim. I made the holly with Caron Simply Soft Kelly Green yarn and used Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion to glue on the sparkly red mini pom poms. I crocheted the star with Caron Simply Soft Sunshine. (The pattern for the star and holly are from Snappy Tots Santa's Reindeer Scarf pattern.)

This scarf is complete, so now it's time to finish the next one!

For the second scarf, I added the red and white brims and the noses. Then I created the braids and the beard with Red Heart With Love Metallic Light Grey yarn.

Next, I added patches, holly, a star, and a peppermint. I crocheted the peppermint by following my own crochet peppermint pattern that's part of my Crochet Gingerbread Mug Rug Pattern.

The second scarf is complete!

I'm trying to decide which one I like more. Green is my favorite color, so I really like the green scarf with the red and white stripes, but I also really like the metallic gray beard and braids on this gnome scarf. I like them both! 😋
