Twisted Bobble Ear Warmers

This winter has been really cold here in Washington state, and while I have a warm puffer coat, it didn't have a hood. My ears were cold! So I decided to crochet a couple ear warmers while I searched for another warm coat with a hood. I did find one, but I still enjoy wearing my ear warmers. There are so many free patterns for crochet headbands and ear warmers on Pinterest, and the one I decided to make is the Bobble Twist Headband by A Crafty Concept. I love the texture created by the bobbles, and since I tend to wear a lot of black, I decided to make my ear warmers colorful!
I made this ear warmer first with I Love This Yarn Painted Canyon (my favorite!). While making the first ear warmer, I figured out that I needed to add a few more stitches to my beginning chain. I think I started with 78 stitches. It seems like a lot more than the 57 stitches the original pattern says to do, but I have big hair. 😆

For the second ear warmer, I had Valentine's Day in mind, so I wanted to include red in the color combo. So, I took a skein of the I Love This Yarn Painted Canyon and cut sections of the teal, black, white, and white & black, and rolled them into balls. Then I grabbed some red I Love This Yarn, and made a ball. I crocheted with the yarns changing colors at random.

Since I'm using several balls of yarn, I have some tails to weave. Oh joy... 😖

I measured my ear warmer before stitching the ends together. It was 20 inches long. That was perfect for my big head. 😁

The designer also created a YouTube video to show how to make this headband and how to create the twist. This pattern is very fun to crochet, and the video is helpful.

The back side... I love these bobbles!!!

Although the I Love This Yarn Painted Canyon is my favorite yarn, my favorite color combo is red, teal, black, and white, so I'm not sure which ear warmer is my favorite. I've received lots of compliments while wearing them, and my ears have been very warm and toasty.😁

Thanks for stopping by!
