Rae Dunn Inspired Scarves

It's time for the July Pinterest Challenge! The purpose of the Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen! For this month's challenge, I chose a pin of a Cocoa Scarf by my favorite crochet designer, Twinkie Chan. I've seen the Cocoa Scarf many times, and once I became a Rae Dunn collector, I thought it would be a cool idea to make a scarf with mugs like the Rae Dunn mugs with my favorite words. I made one earlier this year, and I recently made another as a gift for my mom. I hope she likes it! *No pattern available*
I didn't find a pattern for Twinkie Chan's Cocoa Scarf, so I winged it. First I crocheted the mugs with brown coffee.

For this scarf, I crocheted 12 mugs. I made the mug body with the coffee first. Then I added a swirl of creamer. And finally, I added a word to the mug.

I used my favorite size crochet hook, 4.0mm (F).

Coffee helped fuel this project. My MUG LIFE mug is one of my faves.

For my mom's scarf, I called her a couple times to ask what words she wanted on the scarf. She chose:  Mug Life, Dunn Life, Never Dunn, Mary (her first name), her last name (I blurred it out), Army Wife, Coffee, Tea, Sip, Honey, Faith, and Pray. She also chose Hello and Bye, which I put on the center joining piece.

Since the center piece will be around the back of the neck, I didn't add any mug handles.

This is my mom's scarf all complete!

I will give it to her next weekend when we stop through TN for a short visit on our way back to WA.

Here's the first Rae Dunn Inspired Scarf I made a few months ago. This one features the words: Sip, Never Dunn, Cocoa, Dunn Life, Bae, Girl Boss, Dunn Run, Dunn Life, Coffee, Yum, Dunn Fund, Gulp,Tea, and Mug Life. This mug scarf was available in my Etsy shop, but my shop is in vacation mode right now because I'm moving soon. But I will definitely have it listed this Fall.

I plan on making one more of these scarves for myself. For my scarf, I'll have the words: Navy Wife, #Mom Life, Wifey, Gemini, Mug Life, Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, Create, and... I'll think of a couple more when I'm actually ready to make it!😁

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my scarf!

  12. I don't own a single piece of Rae Dunn but have a cousin who collects it and trades it online. Her collection is so impressive. This project made me smile just looking at it so I had to chose it as a feature for the next party! Thank you for visiting with us again and I look forward to more of what you will share. #HomeMattersParty
