Earl Grey Margaret Cowl

Welcome to the May Craft Room De-Stash Challenge! This month I'm sharing my latest Crochet Margaret Cowl. I've made a few of these cowls before, but this time I made one using a Caron Tea Cake in Earl Grey. A friend requested this cowl in black and gray, and I knew I had the perfect yarn for it. I am constantly trying to use up my yarn stash, and I will probably make more of these cowls in this color.

The chunky Caron Tea Cakes are perfect for creating the Margaret Cowl. These yarns are chunky, colorful, and fun! This is the Caron Tea Cake in Earl Grey. It's black and a couple different shades of gray.

To create this cowl, I used the Margaret Button Cowl pattern by Fiber Flux. This pattern works up super fast and is so easy! Since the yarn is chunky, I used a size 8mm crochet hook.
The original pattern calls for one large button, but I like to add three large buttons to fasten the cowl. Since I was making this cowl for someone, I sent her pictures of the buttons I had available. I was hoping she'd select the silver square shaped buttons, and she did.

This cowl can be worn a couple of ways...

Here are the other Margaret Cowls I made:
crocheted with Caron Sprinkle Cake Vanilla Bean  (I love the gray!)

crocheted with Caron Tea Cake Winterberry

crocheted with Caron Sprinkle Cake Mocha Rainbow

crocheted with Vanna's Choice Kelly Green yarn

Aren't these cactus buttons cute!?!?

I love this cowl because it's so fun to make and can be worn two different ways. I have these cowls listed in my Etsy Shop.
