Autumn Hearts Scarf

It's time for the first Crafty Destash Challenge of 2019! Since Valentine's Day is next month, I wanted to make a scarf with hearts using some yarn that's been in my stash for a while. I've admired the Hearts & Stripes Scarf for awhile because I like that there are hearts at the end of the scarf. So I used the pattern for the hearts in the Hearts & Stripes Scarf pattern to create the hearts on the ends of this scarf. To create the scarf, I followed the Unicorn Tracks Scarf pattern

I recently discovered the Unicorn Tracks Scarf pattern, and I fell in love with it. I think it's recommended to use a stripes yarn, but I think it also looks cool with this regular variegated yarn. This yarn is Vanna's Choice Autumn Print. I used three skeins of this yarn from my stash.

I crocheted the hearts with Vanna's Choice Brick Red, and I followed the pattern for the hearts in the Hearts & Stripes Scarf pattern. I also considered using Vanna's Choice Taupe or Vanna's Choice Honey for the hearts, but I decided to go with a the Vanna's Choice Brick Red to have red hearts for Valentine's Day. Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice is one of my favorite yarns because there are so many great colors!

I crocheted the scarf until it was about 60 inches long, and then I made the hearts.

I used a yarn needle to stitch the bottom halves of two hearts together. I gathered the end of the scarf together and sandwiched it inside the hearts. Then I stitched the hearts and scarf together. I repeated this for the other end of the scarf.

The hearts are attached!

With the hearts attached, the scarf is about 6 inches long and 7 inches wide.

This scarf is ready to wear!

This Autumn Hearts Scarf is available in my Etsy shop.

Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.

Let's meet this month's bloggers!

I popped over to check out Kim's pattern - definitely going to have to try my hand at one, but I love your version with the hearts on the bottom! Heck, I love the hearts on the bottom for any scarf - such a fun idea! Thanks so much for the great inspiration.
