Crochet TMNT Inspired Baby Set

Not too long ago, I crocheted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle inspired baby set for a friend, and my friend sent me this picture of her adorable baby boy wearing the set during his one month old photo shoot.

My friend requested a Michelangelo (inspired) baby set for her baby boy. I had to consult with Google to find out what color that turtle wears...

First, I crocheted a simple newborn baby hat. I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect shade of "Ninja Turtle green." I ended up using Vanna's Choice Kelly Green.

To make the turtle shell, I crocheted a hexagon and 6 pentagons.

I crocheted the diaper cover twice. The pattern I followed said to crochet three chains at the beginnings and ends of the rows, but it actually works better to crochet two chains.

After I finished crocheting the diaper cover, I added an orange button to the adjustable diaper cover.

I crocheted an orange eye mask...

I also made two arm bands.

Here's the whole set.

my friend's precious bundle of joy as Michelangelo the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
