Denim Mist Knitted Scarf

I've been crocheting for about 14 years, but I recently decided to take a knitting class. I now know how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off.  I find knitting fun, but it takes longer than crocheting! In the time it took me to knit this scarf, I could have crocheted three! Well, maybe it's because I'm a knitting newbie. Hopefully, I'll get faster with more practice.

I have a new knitting buddy. This is Gracie. We adopted her from the local humane society last weekend.

To make this scarf, I used the stockinette stitch.  I alternated between a knit row and a purl row. I wanted to knit this scarf up fast, so I used size 13 needles and two strands of yarn. I used Vanna's Choice Denim Mist yarn, which is now my favorite yarn. I just love denim! I cast on 15 stitches to achieve the width I wanted, and I just kept knitting until it was the desired length.
After knitting the scarf, it was really rolled up, so I blocked it. This was my first time blocking. Since I used acrylic yarn, I blocked it using my iron. I blocked it with the wrong side (purl side) up.

So after the scarf was blocked, I added fringe to the ends, and it was all done! 😁

Since I enjoyed making this scarf and need more practice knitting, I think I'll make a couple more as Christmas Gifts for friends and family members! Yes, I'm thinking about Christmas gifts already! I'll continue to make gifts all year long, so check back with us from time to time.
