Crochet Granny Square Slippers

I just finished these booties/slippers for my mom. I'm pleased with how they turned out. This was my first time making slippers, and I really hope they fit. My mother and I don't wear the same shoe size. Somehow, I ended up with some pretty big feet, especially since I'm only 5'4". I wear a size 10 shoe, and I believe my mom wears an 8. I followed the pattern in the book to make the large sized slippers, but they're still not large enough to fit my big feet. I mean... I got my foot in the slipper, but I was afraid my gigantic feet were going to stretch the slipper out or bust a stitch!

I started on the slippers last week. The pattern is pretty easy to follow, and I think my slippers look just like the ones in the book. I found yarn colors that match the colors used in the slippers very well.

the granny square... I love these colors together (Caron Simply Soft Sunshine, Lavender Blue, Plum Wine, Pistachio, Persimmon, and Bone).
Here's where I left off working on the slippers last night. I finished the top part of the slippers, and I created the soles.

Then I sprayed them with plasti dip to make them non-skid slippers.

I let the plasti dip spray dry overnight. I was worried that I may have sprayed too much, but it dried just fine overnight. Hopefully this stuff works, so my mom doesn't slip and slide a over her hardwood floors.

I hope my mother likes these slippers, and I pray that they fit! Eventually, I want to make a pair of these slippers for me.
