Upcycle Challenge: Wonder Woman Inspired Chair Makeover

Every now and then I enjoy giving a piece of furniture a makeover, so this month I decided to join my blogging friends for the July Upcycle Challenge. For this challenge, my friends and I are creating a project using a thrift store find of $10 or less. So back in May, I purchased a really cute antique desk for my daughter at a local antiques shop. Of course, the desk needed a chair. So I ventured off to the local Good Will...

I was so glad to find this chair for only $7.99! It's real wood and sturdy.

At first, I painted it white with FolkArt Home DΓ©cor Chalk Paint.. But then I decided that that was kinda boring, so I added more color! My daughter has a Wonder Woman themed room, and I've been painting her furniture red, white, blue, and yellow to match the theme.

I painted the seat blue, and then added yellow and red. I ended up painting the middle of the back of the chair red instead of yellow.

I decided that I wanted to add stars to the blue seat. After struggling to make stars without a stencil (I can't draw... not that great at painting either...) I decided to get a stencil. I live in a small town, and this was the only star stencil I could find. So I made it work.

Ta-Da! The chair is finished drying and ready to join the rest of the furniture in my daughter's Wonder Woman themed room.

 Here's my daughter's dresser...

Here's the chair with the dresser...

Here's my daughter's vanity and the chair...

And this is the super cute Wonder Woman bedding I found.

And I found Wonder Woman curtains!

And here's the chair with her desk. I painted the desk white about a week ago. I love the rose drawer pulls.

The chair and desk are now ready for use. My daughter enjoys sitting at her desk drawing pictures and writing stories. She totally approved of Mommy's paint job. Yay! 😊

Thanks for stopping by to check out my Wonder Woman Inspired Chair! I hope you'll also check out my friends' Upcycle Challenge projects below!
