Before I started on the pillow, I had to figure out a color scheme. I have so may skeins of yarn in various colors... So one day, I opened my wardrobe where I store my yarn and fabric, and I found some minky fabric that I used to create a hoodie for my daughter, and I decided to use the same colors of that fabric.
I made a minky hoodie for my daughter a couple years ago using this fabric.
Each side of the pillow has 16 squares. I used the join as you go method.
After I finished all the squares for both side of the pillow, I joined both side together, made a border around the squares, and stitched the two sides together around a pillow form.
I love this color scheme! The yarns I used for this pillow are Caron Simply Soft's Off White, Autumn Red, Soft Green, Ocean, Sunshine, and Blue Mint.
Now that I've completed my first crochet pillow, I can't wait to crochet more! And I really need to create something with this lovely minky fabric!
