Crochet Pancake Scarf

As I've said before, I am a huge fan of the crochet designer Twinkie Chan. I adore her food themed scarves, and I've made many of them. I own both her books (Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for the Fashion Foodie and Twinkie Chan's Crochet Abode a la Mode), and I admire her creativity. I really enjoy her breakfast themed scarves. I've made her Buttered Toast Scarf (I even made matching gloves) and the Bacon and Eggs Scarf. There was one scarf I really wanted to make, but the pattern wasn't available. So I had to figure it out on my own, which wasn't too hard...

...especially since I actually had one of Twinkie's pancake scarves to use as a guide. My friend's daughter bought her Twinkie Chan's scarf a couple Christmases ago. I wanted to make sure I got the pancake size right and the length right. I did decide to do the pancake syrup differently. And I used a darker yarn for the pancakes and syrup. For my pancake scarf, I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Honey, Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Beige, Lion Brand Vanna's Glamour Copper, and Caron Simply Soft Sunshine.

After crocheting 14 pancakes and stitching them together, I added the syrup and the butter. I crocheted the syrup in a flower-like pattern, and then added the butter.

I used the Lion Brand Vanna's Glamour Copper, so the syrup is sparkly. And Caron Simply Soft Sunshine is my go-to color for butter. I used it when I made the pats of butter for my Buttered Toast Scarf and Gloves, and I also use it for the Buttery Popcorn Scarf. It's also a great color for the egg yolk on the Bacon and Eggs Scarf.

My pancake scarf has 14 pancakes and is approximately 64 inches long.

The Pancake Scarf is available for sale in my Etsy Shop.
