Crochet Pencil Scarves

Today is World Teacher Day, and as a parent (and former educator) I have a great appreciation for great teachers! Last month, my daughter started 1st grade, and she loves her new teacher. Whenever I think of teachers, I think of pencils, notebook paper, books, chalkboards, etc. So I was inspired to create a couple pencil inspired crochet projects. First, I created a crochet pencil pillow, and then I crocheted a couple pencil scarves. One scarf is my daughter's, and the other is available in my Etsy shop.

For this project, I used yarns from different brands because they were the colors that I liked for my pencil creations. I used Red Heart Super Saver Charcoal, Vanna's Choice Beige, Big Twist Chunky Nugget, and Big Twist Premium Salmon. For the silver in my daughter's scarf I used Caron Simply Soft Party in Silver, and for the other scarf I used Red Heart Classic Silver.

For the yellow portion of the scarf, I used Big Twist Chunky Nugget yarn. I also used my size H pencil crochet hook to crochet this scarf.

For the silver portion of my daughter's scarf, I used Caron Simply Soft Party in Silver.

My daughter's scarf is a #2 pencil. I used Caron Simply Soft for the black portion.

I think the Salmon yarn is perfect as a pencil eraser, and I fell in love with how Big Twist Premium yarn feels.

Here's my daughter's pencil scarf with three pencil crochet hooks I created.

Here's the Pencil Scarf that's available in my Etsy shop.

These pencil scarves are so much fun to make and wear! The chunky yarn will keep you nice and warm during the chilly fall and winter weather.

I used the same yarns for this scarf that I used for my daughter's, except for the silver portion I used Red Heart Classic Silver  and Red Heart Boutique Sashay Sequins Smoky. I like sparkle!

This scarf is ready to write... I mean, ready to wear! 😁
