Tinley Tee & Love Me Knot Shorts

I cannot believe that my little girl will be five years old 16 days! And next months she'll go off to kindergarten. So as a countdown to my daughter's birthday, all month I will share posts featuring items that I've made for her over the years. So when she was three, I reviewed the Tinley Tee and Love Me Knot Shorts sewing patterns for GYCT Designs.

For the Tinley Tee, I used pink camo and army green fabric. The pattern provides 4 different sleeve options. I chose the gathered cap sleeve. I decided to add 3 buttons to one shoulder of the shirt, which is NOT a part of the pattern.
For the Love Me Knot Shorts, I cut up a pair of my husband's jeans that were too short. (How did they become too short? Did he grow? I mean, he's in his 30s. He should be done growing by now...)

I decided to use green bias tape for the hem and keyhole on the shorts. Also, for these shorts, you can make the ties long enough to tie in a bow or keep them short and just tie them in a knot. I chose long ties, but my daughter kept untying the shorts all day, so I wish I had just gone with the shorter option.

The front side of the shorts has cute pockets.

The Tinley Tee Pattern is still available in the GYCT Etsy shop.
My daughter loved her new outfit made by Mommy.

  1. Those shorts are too cute. I love how they tie on the sides. Thanks for joining the Family Joy Link Party!
