New Southern Table Cookbook

As a wife and mother, I'm usually the one responsible for feeding my family (sometimes my husband cooks, too). And I often feel like I cook the same meals over and over, so I was really excited to receive Whitney Miller's New Southern Table cookbook. This book really appeals to me because I am a Southerner who loves Southern food! This book includes her unique versions of some of my favorite Southern classics like Sweet Tea Peach Cobbler, a Nutty Banana Pudding, Toasted Coconut Cream Pie with Chocolate and Pecans, and Buttermilk Pecan Pralines. Miller's cookbook is divided into several sections like Breakfast, Socials and Snacks, Family Suppers, Company's Comin', and more to make it easy for you to find the perfect meal for the occasion. Cooking doesn't come naturally to me, so I love that most recipes have colorful, full-page photos. I need to see what the food is supposed to looks like when I'm done!
Since it's Father's Day, I decided to try a different recipe for breakfast. So I made Whitney's Sausage and Egg Pie and Coffee Milk Tea for breakfast, and both were delicious! I usually make the same thing for breakfast every morning, so it was nice to try a new recipe and a different coffee beverage. The Sausage and Egg Pie combines grits, eggs, spinach, tomatoes, and sausage. While I feel that anything with spinach HAS to be healthy, it would be great if the recipes included nutritional information, such as the calories, fat, sugar, carbs, etc.

Overall, I'd have to say that this is a great cookbook! My first recipe from this cookbook was a success, and I look forward to trying many more. I'd recommend this cookbook to all my Southern food loving friends.
